On the morning of July 10, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy key tasks for the last 6 months of 2024.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Department; leaders of departments and units under the Department; leaders of the Department of Culture, Information, Centers of Culture, Information and Sports of districts, towns and cities...

In the first 6 months of the year, the Party Committee and the Department's leadership have always been united, unified, and determined in directing and operating all activities. State management has been strengthened and innovated. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised the province to organize many events that have been highly appreciated by public opinion. Propaganda and organization of cultural and sports activities have been promoted, focusing on the grassroots level. Attention has been paid to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values.

The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and family work continue to be widely implemented. Sports activities take place enthusiastically from the province to the grassroots. High-performance sports have achieved many positive results. State management of tourism has been implemented promptly; tourism promotion activities have been well coordinated. The total number of tourists in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated at 3.85 million (89.5% of the annual plan); total revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 2,947.5 billion (89.3% of the annual plan).

Regarding the key tasks for the last 6 months of 2020, the whole industry focuses on implementing and completing the plans and targets set out in the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term; Plan No. 3722/KH-UBND dated December 31, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU dated September 15, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing trade, services, and tourism, focusing on logistics services.

Organize well visual propaganda, cultural, artistic activities, and film screenings to celebrate major holidays and anniversaries. Stage a new Cheo play in 2024; launch a contest to create propaganda paintings to welcome the 21st Ha Nam Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, commemorating the 135th anniversary of the founding of Ha Nam province (October 20, 1890 - October 20, 2025). Participate in the "Red River Convergence" performance organized by the Department of Grassroots Culture in Thai Binh. Host the exhibition of large-scale propaganda paintings to celebrate the founding of the Party.

Strengthen state management of business sectors and industries with conditions on security and order. Submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval to prepare a dossier of typical artifacts to propose recognition as National Treasures in the 13th phase of 2024. Prepare a scientific dossier to rank relics in 2024 and advise the Provincial Relic Ranking Council to hold a meeting to review the dossier of relics proposed for ranking as provincial relics in 2024. Inspect the work of reviewing and recognizing cultural titles at the grassroots level in 2024. Promote physical training and sports activities, continue to implement projects and plans on tourism development.

Also at the conference, 8 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements at the National Music Festival and national and international sports competitions in 2023; the National Propaganda Painting Contest to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and the traditional day of Truong Son Troops.
