Promoting the value of the relics of the Temple of 10 female martyrs of the Lam Ha anti-aircraft artillery militia

20/08/2024

The temple of 10 female martyrs of the Lam Ha anti-aircraft artillery militia was built in 2009, together with the Martyrs Temple of Ha Nam province. 10 former female martyrs in the women's platoon of the Lam Ha Air Defense Militia Company. In the escalating campaign to attack the North of the US imperialists, in order to protect the arterial traffic route through Phu Ly, the company members were tasked with both producing, fighting and serving for combat. After fierce battles with the US Air Force, 10 very young female militiamen heroically sacrificed.

At the 37 mm artillery battle, on October 1, 1966, there were 5 female anti-aircraft gunners and one female ambulance and artillery ammunition survivors, including: Dinh Thi Tam (born in 1948), Phan Thi Tuyet (born in 1947), Pham Thi Lan (born in 1944), Vu Thi Thanh Phuong (born in 1943), Nguyen Thi Thu (born in 1948), Nguyen Thi Thi (born in 1950). After 9 days, on the 100 mm artillery battlefield, the sisters: Nguyen Thi Oanh (born in 1942), Nguyen Thi Thuan (born in 1948), Tran Thi Thop (born in 1944) also heroically sacrificed. On July 7, 1967, at the 57 mm artillery battle, Ms. Dang Thi Chung was the 10th anti-aircraft gunner to die.

According to local people, in the past, next to the bank of the stream - a small branch of the Chau River that irrigates the fields inside the dike of the old Lam Ha commune, Lam Ha lake now has a small shrine to worship those who died at the Dinh Trang artillery battle. With the stature of the war and their brave sacrifices, in the process of researching and building the Provincial Martyrs' Temple, historians, provincial authorities and relevant agencies found it necessary to have a separate temple of 10 female martyrs of the Lam Ha anti-aircraft artillery militia.

The temple is located right next to the former Dinh Trang anti-aircraft artillery battle. The temple faces northeast, in front of which is a large lake. This architectural work consists of 2 buildings in the front hall and the harem. The front street building is imbued with traditional architecture with soaring blades, tiled roofs, and Bat Trang tile floors.

The most prominent in the front hall is the portrait of 10 female martyrs, the painting has 4 national characters "Paralyzed Female Soul", there are couplets and a number of poems and poems by some authors. In the glass cabinet in the front hall building, there are also mirrors, hair combs, paper fans, bunches of shampoo, hats, hats, ao dai, military uniforms... are idyllic, familiar but extremely sacred items, reminding visitors of a maidenhood of 10 female martyrs. The harem is a small room, on the altar are placed 10 plaques, on which the names of 10 paralyzed women are written in Chinese characters.

The temple is located in a space that exudes the fragrant fragrance of lotus flowers, brown flowers and orchids. Outside the campus, the entrance to the anti-aircraft artillery battlefield is dozens of guava trees, a typical tree of Lam Ha land and a favorite hometown gift of girls when they are alive. Passing through the stone bridge is a restored anti-aircraft artillery battle. There is also a 37mm cannon here, which is the combat cannon of 10 female Lam Ha air defense militia soldiers that is still preserved and displayed at the battlefield in the past. Lam Ha at this time is likened to Dong Loc, although they did not sacrifice on the same day, a place like the girls at Dong Loc junction, but they all fell because of their love for their homeland, love of peace and hatred of the American imperialist invasion.

With that historical significance, in 2016, the temple and artillery battlefield were recognized as national historical relics by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This place has become a "red address" for historical education, patriotic traditions, and revolutionary traditions for the younger generation. This is also a place visited by many residents and tourists. In addition to offering incense and flowers at the Temple of the 10 Female Martyrs, visiting the anti-aircraft artillery battle, visitors can also admire the Monument of 10 Girls made of blue stone on the square in front and right of the Martyrs Temple of Ha Nam Province, or directly light incense to pay tribute on the graves of the 10 women at the Martyrs Cemetery of Lam Ha Ward. This is a martyr's cemetery with many special things, there are many martyrs who are two mothers and children, two sisters, two brothers, two husbands and wives, two sisters, a boy and a girl; in which the two main sisters are Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Thi Thi and sister Nguyen Thi Thu - two of the 10 female martyrs of the Lam Ha militia.

Mr. Pham Xuan Hai, Socio-Cultural Officer of Lam Ha Ward said: The spiritual area has just been managed by the ward but has welcomed a large number of tourists to visit. Visitors here are introduced to the 10 militia girls, where the artillery battle was fought in the past, where they sacrificed and if they wish, they can visit their relatives. Most of the tourists were very excited and expressed their admiration for Lam Ha's hometown, for the brave sacrifice of 10 girls in the past. Every year, in addition to holidays and Tet, other activities of the ward such as: Tet tree planting, mass sports tournaments, lighting gratitude candles of the youth union on the day of their sacrifices, War Invalids - Martyrs Day 27/7, the day of sending young people off to enlist, military discharge ceremony... are also held here.

In order to promote the value of the relic and contribute to the development of tourism, it is thought that Phu Ly city needs to further strengthen propaganda and promotion. The relic is one of 12 provincial tourist attractions, but in Phu Ly city, there is no sign leading to this tourist destination. The pedestrian street space in Phu Ly currently attracts quite a lot of people and tourists, so promoting in this space will be highly effective. To attract tourists, the city's functional units need to actively connect this tourist spot with a number of spiritual tourist areas and attractions of other localities in the province, forming suitable tours and routes. At the same time, organize training for officials, management participants and narrators at tourist attractions. Phu Ly city also needs to continue researching and collecting documents, artifacts and images about 10 female martyrs and coordinate with all levels, branches, unions and schools in the province to organize activities "to the source" at the relic.
