The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just held a rehearsal for a new Cheo play in 2024. The Cheo play, titled "Bright Moon", directed by People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, is about the life, thoughts and will of writer and martyr Nam Cao.

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui said: Cheo is a difficult subject because it deals with the image of a great character. Therefore, before staging the play, from the director, crew to actors, they had to read and research carefully about the writer to have the most authentic and vivid emotions. Although it was difficult, we were able to create enthusiasm and emotion for the play, because the writer and martyr Nam Cao was an outstanding person, an excellent son of the homeland.

There are many plays about famous works of Nam Cao, but no one has ever brought the writer's image to the stage, so this is a new topic and puts pressure on the crew as well as the artists. But only with pressure can we bring new things and new emotions to the artists, conveying the humanistic spirit of the realist and revolutionary writer Nam Cao.

The characters Chi Pheo, Thi No and the old man Lao Hac in Nam Cao's work are recreated in the play.

The artists of Ha Nam Cheo Troupe played their roles well. The role of Nam Cao had many subtle performances. The other roles were played by young artists, although their performance skills were not as good as those of the older artists, they were youthful and enthusiastic, bringing a fresh atmosphere to the play.

 However, the play still has some poor performances. After the rehearsal, we will make some adjustments to perfect the work and bring a quality performance to the audience.
