Rajasthan (India) folk performance and Henan traditional art

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, on the evening of October 19, at the walking street space of Phu Ly city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the City People's Committee to organize the Rajasthan (India) Folk Performance Program and Ha Nam traditional art.

The program was attended by Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, Embassy of India; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, People's Committee of Phu Ly city; Indian folk artists from Rajasthan state, and a large number of people.

Participating in the program, the Rajasthan folk dance group led by Ms. Karuna Verma performed songs and dances, typical dances of India. Among them, there was the Chari dance by dancers in colorful costumes; the attractive Chakri dance with RIM bicycle and the performance combining 2 musical instruments Dholak & Khadtaal, along with the Jugal-Bandi performance.

Dance performances were interspersed with songs of Rajasthani, Bollywood and Indian Sufi influences.

At the show, a group of Indian folk artists performed the Taraju dance: Tarazoo is a traditional balancing instrument; the artist holds it in his hands, dances and moves nimbly with the Tarazoo in rapid rotations. The dance starts slowly and gradually speeds up with the accompaniment of drum beats. Next to it, there is the Kalbelia dance - one of the most sensual dances of Rajasthan; the Bhawani dance - the most spectacular performance in Rajasthan with a dancer balancing pots on his head while dancing, spinning and swaying.

Along with performances by Indian artists, People's Artist Pham Hai Hau and artists from the Ha Nam Cheo Art Troupe participated in the exchange with the Chau Van performance "Co Be Thuong Ngan".

The program is a meaningful traditional cultural and artistic exchange event, contributing to deepening and further strengthening the friendly relationship and good traditions between the people of Vietnam and India.
