On the morning of December 18, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to review 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025 of the culture, sports and tourism sector with the theme "Building an advanced culture with strong national identity - The driving force for development in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise". Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the conference.
The conference was connected online from the main bridge at the Government headquarters to the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with 772 bridges at the People's Committees of provinces, centrally-run cities and district-level People's Committees.
Attending the conference at the connecting points were: Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; comrades of the Party Central Committee, Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education, Provincial Party Secretaries; leaders of ministries, branches, central and local agencies.
At the Ha Nam provincial bridge, the conference was chaired by comrade Nguyen Anh Chuc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
In 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has identified important goals to continue to develop strongly in the three areas of culture, sports and tourism. In particular, strengthening the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, especially those recognized by UNESCO. Continuing to promote the movement "All people build a cultural life", encouraging creativity in the arts and traditional culture, while building and developing cultural products imbued with national identity.
Continue to promote high-performance sports, especially in preparation for major sporting events and international tournaments. At the same time, develop mass sports, improve community health through community sports programs, especially for youth and the elderly. Continue to develop tourism in a sustainable direction, focusing on unique tourism products, experiential tourism, eco-tourism, and heritage tourism. Promote the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world through digital platforms and international promotional campaigns.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that 2025 will be an important year in realizing the goals of sustainable development of culture, sports and tourism. The Prime Minister gave three major orientations for the industry: Culture must become the foundation and driving force for sustainable development of society. Traditional cultural values need to be preserved and promoted, while focusing on developing creative cultural products that reflect national identity in the context of globalization. Ministries, sectors and localities promote mass sports movements and improve public health. Along with that, it is necessary to continue developing high-performance sports, investing heavily in strong sports to continue affirming the position of Vietnamese sports in the international arena. Tourism needs to develop in a sustainable direction, respecting the environment and protecting cultural heritage values.
To achieve the set goals, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed a number of key solutions such as: encouraging businesses to invest in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, and developing international cooperation programs to improve service quality. Applying digital technology in the management, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, sports and tourism. Improving the organization of events and introducing tourism products through online platforms. Promoting training and improving professional qualifications for staff in the fields of culture, sports and tourism, meeting development requirements in the period of international integration.
